Skincare and beauty routine Japanese women swear by

Uncategorized / June 14, 2022

While the Korean skincare routine promises to give you glass skin, the Japanese women swear their routine will give you flawless skin. The routine focuses more on your skin and allows you to look younger. There is no drying out of the skin with the Japanese skincare routine. The exciting thing about the Japanese skincare routine is that you don’t need to visit the country. We have done our research, and this article will highlight the skincare and beauty routine Japanese women swear by.

1. Use a high-quality but lightweight facial sunscreen

Most people struggle to use sunscreen because it leaves a white cast. Not the Japanese women. They always go for a lightweight facial sunscreen. What other sunscreen screams lightweight if not shea butter? The women also use gel sunscreens. The gel sunscreen is the best for people with oily skin. It protects the skin from the UV rays of the sun. It is lightweight and absorbs quickly into the skin. The gel sunscreen lasts longer on the skin, meaning the reapplication might occur twice a day. It mainly contains aloe vera, which keeps the skin hydrated and moisturised.

2. Eat a traditional balanced diet

One of our mantras is that whatever you eat is responsible for how your skin looks on the outside. The Japanese women prioritise their meal as it enhances the appearance of their skin. The meal for their skin is mainly made of vegetable dishes plus rice and fish. The food is rich in vitamins and supplies the body with omega-3 fatty acids. The omega-3 fatty acids reduce the production of toxins which leads to acne breakout and premature ageing. Their meals are also rich in iodine and keratin. Try to recreate the nutritious Japanese meals for their benefit to your skin.

3. Make green tea your best friend

There are many skin benefits of green tea. Japanese women use green tea for different purposes. It is an excellent source of antioxidants and has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. Green tea is part of a lifestyle for Japanese women. They drink matcha for glowing skin. It can also be made into snacks and is a suitable replacement for unhealthy snacks. Matcha curbs the redness on the skin while helping to treat other skin conditions. Matcha helps to fight radicals in the skin because of its preparation. Japanese women always drink matcha (green tea) because of the overall skincare benefit.

4. Bath daily

Japanese women make bathing a daily routine. They see bathing as a beauty ritual, and we cannot agree less. They have natural hot springs (onsen) around the city and their resorts. They soak their body in the onsen, scrub and relax while getting all the benefits of the natural water. While in your house, you can soak in a lukewarm tub and scrub with oat powder. You can also infuse the bath water with natural or essential oils, adding extra moisture to your skin. The steam from the hot tub helps to detoxify the skin and give you bright skin. Always remember to moisturise your skin after taking a shower. If you have a busy day and cannot have a soaking bath like the Japanese women, always try to take a shower twice daily. Moisturise while your skin is still damp to get all the benefits of the moisturiser.

5. Exfoliate with azuki beans

Japanese women use azuki beans to exfoliate their skin for a radiant glow. It’s okay to wonder where you can get azuki beans from. If you have no access to it, the oat powder is a solid replacement. Just like oat powder, the azuki beans gets rid of acne and blackheads. It is always ground into a powder. The azuki beans during exfoliation promotes the circulation of blood and removal of dead skin cells. If you have access to an azuki bean, use a coffee grinder to grind half cup of dried azuki beans. When its ground into a fine powder, store in the fridge for a few hours. With the powder in your palm, mix with water and circulate all over yoyr face. Allow the mix to seat for two minutes and rinse.
